Ahrcana is an italian power metal band (initially named Prophecy) formed in 1998 by the drummer Gianluca Luci, but the main lineup arised in the beginning of '99 including Claudio "Halley" Bertin (voice), Franz Montonati and Alex Castelnovo (guitars), Lele Coccato (bass).
In the following years some demos was recorded. The last one leaded to a deal with Northwind Records, one of the most appreciated label in Italy at the time.
"Into the prophecy" was born in 2003 in the respected New Sin Studios (Labyrinth - Domine - Eldritch - White Skull, Secret Sphere and many more) and was worldwide distributed.
It's the german power/speed era: Helloween changed their tune and Gamma Ray take over from them, Blind Guardian break the mould and Angra barge in from overseas.
Power metal scene is strong in Italy too and Ahrcana get their hands on it: Metalheads really appreciate the album; web/fanzine too, impressed by great melodies and powerfull choirs.
The band shares the stage with some of the most respected italian lineup (Secret Sphere, Beholder, Highlord, Desdemona, Power Symphony).
Ahrcana are ready for the breakthrough, but Halley's leaving and some disagreements finally lead to a split instead, in 2005.
After many years (it was 2018) the band come back to stage with a new lineup leaded by the former members Luci and Montonati reintroducing itself in the underground metal scene. Projects were made for a rebirth, but they went wrong and Ahrcana definitively broke up in summer 2020.
